Corbett National Park

Safari Trip to Corbett National Park

Corbett National Park, originally known as Hailey National Park, is India’s oldest national park. It is situated directly in the Himalayan foothills.

This park was created as a result of the successful work of conservationists, particularly John Corbett. He was the one in charge of prohibiting hunting and catching wild animals, including tigers, as well as cutting wood in the region.

The World Wildlife Organization named the tiger, Asian elephant, and one-horned rhinoceros among the species that need to be conserved under the Terai Arc Landscape Program.

The plan attempts to restore forests in Nepal and India in order to facilitate animal movement. The park has a diverse range of animal species.

Fowls, crested serpent eagles, weaver birds, kingfishers, falcons, gulls, herons, black-throated payas, stone curlews, and parakeets are among the native and migratory birds noted.

Aside from the famous tigers, the park is home to a variety of cats, including the jungle cat, fisher cat, and leopard.

You may also include buffalos, bears, elephants, leopards, pythons, crocodiles, Indian pangolins, rhesus monkeys, antelopes, sloths, and four different types of deer.

Planning

Planning early is the best way to enjoy a Corbett Jeep Safari vacation to Corbett National Park. Make reservations in advance, make a schedule, develop a list of the greatest and most recommended places to visit, and, of course, familiarise yourself with the locals and their culture so you know what you should and should not do.

November through June are the finest months to come to see the abundant flora and animals. From either the international airport in Delhi or the domestic airport in Pantnagar, it is just 50 kilometers from the destination.

Another alternative is to take the train to Ramnagar, from where you may take taxis or minibusses to Corbett.

Lastly, if you like to drive your own Jeep, you may take Delhi Road, passing via Hapur and Murababad on the way to Ramnagar.

Tourists are recommended to arrive at the gate at least 30 minutes early in order to attend the briefing and get the required permits. Avoid last-minute rushing.

The Best Activities in Corbett

There are several activities available at Corbett National Park besides tiger and bird viewing. Ramgarh, Kosi, Mandal, Binsar, Kothari, and Pancheshwar are among the locations that permit fishing and angling. The forest authorities must approve permission for the activities to proceed.

Rods for fishing are also available for rental. It is an excellent fishing spot. You may immediately go on the Jim Corbett Safari. This is the most popular activity in the park; thus, reservations are required.

You will be escorted by an expert driver who will assist you in locating the wild creatures you seek. It can cover the whole region faster.

Another enjoyable option to spend time in the park is on an elephant ride. These animals can access locations that Jeeps cannot. Even greater proximity to animals in the wild is possible without frightening them away.

You get the opportunity to see wild creatures in their natural environment. Some adjacent resorts provide additional adventure activities such as hiking, river crossing, rock climbing, and bungee jumping.

Things To Carry

Now that you have an idea of what Corbett has to offer, it is recommended that you pack the following items in order to have the best experience of your life: binoculars, a map, comfortable and neutral-colored clothes, sunglasses, a camera, bug spray, and extra money.
