Step 7. Click on Apply and okay buttons. Open it again and ensure that ‘Use Multitouch Function’ has a check and all other Multitouch Gestures are enabled. Restart the laptop and try again!

Uninstall Device Drivers

The next step you should try after installing Windows Updates is to Uninstall Device Drivers and restart the computer for changes to get in action.

Step 1. Press Win + R to open the Run Command Window.

Step 2. Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter to get into the Device Manager console.

Step 3. Expand ‘Mice and other pointing devices’ and right-click on the pointing device.

Step 4. Click on the ‘Uninstall Device’ option and restart the computer. This will install the latest updated drivers from the Windows Updates library and should fix the issue.

If the above steps didn’t work for you, the next step is to manually download the latest updated driver from the manufacturer’s website and install it on your laptop.

Step 1. From Device Manager, right-click on the pointing device and click on the ‘Properties’ option.

Step 2. Take a note of the device name, model number and manufacturer.

Step 3. Go to the browser and open up the manufacturer’s website.

Step 4. Search for the right device drivers and download them on the laptop. Save them to a specific location that you can remember.

Step 5. Go back to the Device Manager using Step 1-3 above and right-click on the device.

Step 6. Click on the ‘Update Driver’ option this time.

Step 8. Follow the wizard and on-screen options to complete the installation. Restart the laptop for changes to take place.
