The Jim Corbett National Park was first established as such in 1956 and can be found in the Indian state of Uttaranchal. This area in India, with a total area of 1318.54 square kilometers, is ideal for those interested in seeing wild animals.

Time to Visit

Entrance Gates

People may enter the forest via many gates. Amdanda gate, about 3 kilometers from Ramnagar, is preferred solely for day visitors, with travelers having the option of staying at a few forest reserve cottages nearby.

The second gate is the Dhangarhi gate, which is approximately 30 kilometers from Ramnagar. This gate is located in the forest’s southeast corner and serves as the entryway to a number of woodland rest cottages.

Another gate is Khara Gate, which is around 20 kilometers from Ramnagar. Two other gates through which travelers may access this forest reserve are the Vatanvasa gate and the Teria gate.

Entry-Specific Details

The entrance charge to the forest is Rs. 400 for foreigners and Rs. 60 for Indians. The fee for entering a vehicle is 750 rupees for buses and 200 rupees for smaller cars.

A still-shot camera is free; however, a deposit of 5000 rupees is required if you have a video camera. The forest reserve is open daily from 6 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Jim Corbett National Park is famous for its tiger habitat. Apart from the many reptile and avian species found in this reserve, tourists may also see Indian elephants, leopards, jungle cats, and wild boars.
